Rye Not? Lager
Made with German Pilsner, Munich, and Crystal malts, this full-bodied amber lager also contains about 10% malted rye. Hopped to a
medium bitterness, it has an aroma and flavor spiced with a blend of American hops from the Pacific Northwest and noble Saaz hops from the Zatec region of the Czech Republic.
Wild Hare APA
This beer is made in the tradition of the American Pale Ale with a few twists because the brewer got a "wild hare" on brew day.
The malt bill consists of German Munich malt and English Pale Ale malt with just a bit of corn to lighten the body and rye malt to add a little spiciness. Dark Crystal malt gives the beer its amber color. American Pale Ales are balanced toward hops and this one is no exception. The flavor and aroma are derived primarily from American Cascade and Centennial Hops.
Orange Blossom Pilsner
The Pilsner Style of Beer was developed in Plzen Czechoslovakia in the late 1800s.
The first example of the style, Pilsner Urquell, is still brewed there today. The light color and intense hoppiness from floral Saaz hops was immediately popular and variants of the style soon spread across the globe. Most American examples are made with up to 45% rice or corn to lighten body, and have little or no hop character. Orange Blossom Pilsner is made from German Munich and Pilsner malts. 15% of the fermentable sugar comes from Orange Blossom honey. The combination of honey and traditional Saaz hops adds complexity and depth not usually found in American beers.
Gil's Stout
Stout is the darkest of the Ales and gets its coffee-like character from the roast barley that makes up about 10% of the grain bill.
Gil's Stout is the first stout brewed at the Back Pocket Brewery and is presented in honor of Gil and Kate's wedding. It is made with Munich malt, Pale Ale malt, Chocolate malt and roast barley.
I hope that you find a beer that you like among those offered and that you enjoy drinking them as much as Mace and I enjoyed Brewing them.
